ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A man is hospitalized after being struck by a light-rail train in St. Paul.

The Green Line train hit the man shortly after 10:00 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Lexington Parkway and University Avenue. Train service was interrupted for about a half-hour.

Metro Transit spokesman Howie Padilla says the man was "standing or crossing the tracks illegally" when he was struck.

Padilla says the man survived and is hospitalized in stable condition.

The man's name, age and hometown were not released.
