ROGERS -- Motorists may start experiencing traffic delays on I-94 near the Twin Cities.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says work on I-94 between Rogers and St. Michael resumed today (Monday). Most of the work is being done off the roadway until later this spring, but brief shoulder and lane closures are possible.

Later this month or early April, workers will resume work on the project which began last year. Narrowed lanes and traffic cross-overs will be likely.

The project is part of Minnesota's Corridors of Commerce program and will add a third lane to westbound traffic and an auxiliary lane to eastbound I-94 in that area.

The project is expected to be completed by the fall of this year.
