Woman Attacked, Choked in St. Cloud Park

ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud police say a woman was attacked and choked in a city park.

Officers responded to several reports of a woman screaming at about 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in the 1800 block of 17th Street South at Calvary Park.

The 20-year-old woman says a man driving a red four door Pontiac, possibly a Grand AM, with a loud aftermarket exhaust, approached her.  He threw her to the ground and started choking her.  She was able to get away, but was caught a second time and choked again.  Several people in the area heard her screams for help and came to her aid.  The victim to did not require medical treatment.

The suspect is described as a white man, about 36 years old, medium height, about 230 pounds, dark hair, and wearing a black shirt.
