The Minnesota Wild are in California tonight to take on the Anaheim Ducks (8:35, WJON). The Wild (4-2-1) are coming off of wins over Columbus and Chicago this past week. The Ducks (3-1-1) were topped by San Jose in a shootout on Tuesday.

Anaheim captain Saku Koivu, the brother of Wild captain Mikko Koivu, leads the Ducks with seven points on the season. The Wild are led by Zach Parise with nine points.


The Timberwolves are at home Friday to take on the struggling Los Angeles Lakers at Target Center (8:00 PM, AM 1390-The Fan). The Wolves (17-25) have lost ten of their last eleven games, while the Lakers (20-26) had won three in a row before falling at Phoenix Wednesday night.

Kobe Bryant leads LA with 28 PPG, while Nikola Pekovic leads the Wolves' active players at 16 PPG.

On Saturday, the Wolves will take on the New Orleans Hornets (15-31) at Target Center (6:30, WJON).


The first place St. Cloud State men's hockey team is in Bemidji this weekend for a Friday-Saturday series with the Beavers at Sanford Center. The Huskies check in at 12-5-1 in WCHA play, with the Beavers in ninth place at 4-10-4.

Next weekend first place SCSU will host second place Minnesota at the NHEC.


The St. John's hockey team is at home for a pair of games this weekend against St. Mary's. The Johnnies (9-6-4) look to extend a six game unbeaten streak against the Cardinals (7-11-1). Game times are 7 PM Friday and 2 PM Saturday at the National Hockey and Event Center in St. Cloud.


St.Cloud State's men's and women's basketball teams are on the road this weekend. The Huskies will take on Wayne State in Nebraska Friday before taking on Augustana in South Dakota Sunday.
