ST. CLOUD - Former St. Cloud Mayor Al Loehr will lie in state in City Hall.  Visitation for Loehr will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday) at City Hall.

He's the first St. Cloud mayor to lie in state who did not die in office.  Loehr's wife Shirley made the request.

Since 1900, only two other mayors have been so honored.

Stearns County historical records show Mayor Phil Collignon was first to lie in state at City Hall in 1945 followed by Mayor Lawrence Borgert in 1953.

Loehr was St. Cloud's mayor from 1970 through 1980.

The funeral for Loehr is set for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  The arrangements are being handled by the Daniel Funeral Home.

Loehr died on Saturday a the age of 85.
