Verso Paper Still Under Active Investigation

SARTELL - It's been a week since the blast at Sartell's Verso Paper Mill, and  fire crews continue to monitor the site.

City Administrator Patti Gartland says they're expecting the ladder engine will stay on-site through the day tomorrow. The warehouse area's explosion area is still and will remain under active investigation by Verso officials.

As of Monday, fire brigade members have removed and extinguished 4 smoldering railroad boxes of paper from the site.

All told, 80 fire departments, 7 law enforcement agencies, 7 other agencies and 26 businesses have been involved in recovery efforts.
