ST. CLOUD - The University of Minnesota's new President Eric Kaler is spending the day today (Tuesday) in St. Cloud.

He says the U of M and St. Cloud State University could both benefit with more partnerships.

He says the school's athletic department is very important to him -- and the University.

Kaler says, despite recent struggles by most of the teams, he believes they're turning a corner.  He says he believes in football coach Jerry Kill, the hockey team is off to a strong start to their season, and he expects the men's basketball team to be very competitive.

Kaler will be speaking to the St. Cloud Rotary Club, and will also visit St. Cloud Hospital, the U's Residency Clinic, and Extension office.
