ST. CLOUD -- A report of a gunshot in north St. Cloud Thursday afternoon, led to a pair of felony arrests.

St. Cloud Police were called to the 400 block of 31st Avenue north at about 1:30 p.m. Officers discovered evidence at the scene confirming the witness report.

Police later found the suspect's vehicle at an apartment building in the 600 block of 12th Avenue North. It had a hole in the floor consistent with a gunshot and officers found a shotgun and ammunition near the vehicle.

Officers arrested 29-year-old Matthew Geurts for being a felon in possession of a gun, reckless discharge of a firearm and 5th degree drug possession. Police also jailed 26-year-old Kara Petschen on a felony warrant and reckless discharge of a firearm.
