Difficult driving conditions are expected with the onset of our first winter storm Friday.

Yesterday's (Monday) snow storm is a good reminder to start practicing your winter driving skills. The St. Cloud area saw about 5 inches of snow and Andy's Towing President Joe Kampa says they were busy taking care of many accidents.

It's been a busy day today (Monday) for law enforcement and towing companies. The State Patrol's Jesse Grabow says between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.., there were 45 crashes in the St. Cloud area including two rollover-type crashes.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is urging you to use extra caution if you are driving into western Minnesota.

Fewer crashes are being reported in Stearns and Benton Counties compared to Monday's snowfall.

It's time for Minnesota motorists to remember their safe winter driving skills. With snow forecast for parts of Minnesota this weekend, MnDOT is urging drivers to be patient and drive according to road conditions.

It won't be long and we will again be driving on snow-covered roads and the State patrol is reminding us to slow down and give ourselves more time. Lieutenant Eric Roeske says statistics show people who are in a hurry and try to make up time have a better chance of going into the ditch or getting into a crash.
