The St. Cloud Park and Recreation Department says due to poor ice conditions the warming shelter at Lake George will be closed.

The Lake George warming shelter is closed today due to the brutal cold. Wind chills between 25 and 35 below are expected today with a high of just 0.

The Lake George Warming Shelter will be closed for the rest of Wednesday.

St. Cloud Park and Recreation officials are announcing that Lake George is ready for ice skating. Warming house hours will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

A ceremony tomorrow (Tuesday) will put the finishing touches on a Lake George project that has been in the works since 2007. Planners, donors and other dignitaries will get an up close look at the Eastman Park project around Lake George.
