Waite Park

Waite Park is a sister city in the St. Cloud Metropolitan Area, joining St. Cloud, Sartell and Sauk Rapids. Waite Park lies to the west of St. Cloud.

According to the US Census Bureau's 2019 estimate, the population of Waite Park is 7,768.

The city was incorporated in 1893, named for state legislator Henry Chester Waite.

Waite Park's motto is "The City With a Smile." For many years, a yellow smiley face water tower watched over the city. The water tower has been repainted with Waite Park's new logo and marketing scheme.

The city is served by Interstate 94 to the south and west and Minnesota State Highway 23, Minnesota Highway 15 and County Road 75.

Waite Park has become a shopping destination, offering national retailer outlets and restaurants.

Stearns County's Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is located in Waite Park.

The eastern-most trailhead for The Lake Wobegon Trail is at Rivers Edge Park in Waite Park. The trail is a popular bicycling/recreation/snowmobile trail.

Waite Park's climate typically includes warm, humid summers and cold winters and moderate to heavy snowfall.
