This week is National Volunteer Week and I talked with Samantha Switzer from the United Way of Central Minnesota about the volunteers who have worked with them. Sam is the Events and Brand Manager for the United Way of Central Minnesota.
The Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation is combining resources with the United Way to facilitate career and college readiness programs and awareness in the St. Cloud area.
Next Thursday hundreds of volunteers will fan out across the region for the annual United Way "Day of Caring". Spokeswoman Jessica Johnson says over 600 volunteers will help over 30 agencies with about 65 different projects.
You can get a group of people together and pull a bus Thursday afternoon. The 7th annual United Way Bus Pull starts at 3:00 p.m. on 5th Avenue in downtown St. Cloud.
Though Blackberry Ridge Golf Course was soaking wet from hours of rain, hundreds of people still ran to raise money for United Way and children experiencing homelessness.
