Service has been temporarily suspended at the Foley Post Office. Spokesman Pete Nowacki says they closed the Post Office on Wednesday in order to do some air quality testing.
The U.S. Postal Service says it will delay plans to cut Saturday mail delivery because Congress isn't allowing the change. The Postal Service said in February that it planned to cut back in August to five-day-a-week deliveries for everything except packages, as a way to hold down losses.
- U.S. Senator Al Franken is fighting to keep the mail processing facility in Waite Park open. During a news conference today (Thursday), Franken says he wants the U.S. Postal Service to keep six day delivery, First Class mail standards at next day delivery, and the rural Post Offices and Distribution Centers open.
