Severe Weather Awareness Week is continuing here in Minnesota. Thursday there will be two tornado drills, with the outdoor warning sirens sounding at 1:45 p.m. and again at 6:45 p.m.
With the pending blizzard expected to hit Wednesday, the National Weather Service is cancelling the statewide tornado drill for Thursday and Friday. However, individual counties are still planning to move forward with the drill.
Don't be alarmed if you hear the warning sirens today (Thursday). This is the day for the annual statewide tornado drills, when sirens across the state will sound off.
Minnesota will conduct two tornado drills today (Thursday). The first drill is statewide at 1:45 p.m. It allows schools, businesses and hospitals to practice their emergency plans.
