The Albany boys basketball team is back in the Class AA State Tournament but this time they are there to defend their title. The Huskies defeated Minnehaha Academy 72-65 to capture the state championship in 2023.

The Cathedral boys hockey team won the Section 5-A championship 4-1 Wednesday night in Elk River over Monticello to earn their 2nd straight state tournament appearance. Andrew Dwinnell, Caden Johnson, and Griffin Sturm all scored first period goals.

The Tech Boys Soccer team will play 2nd seeded Hill Murray Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at U.S. Bank Stadium in the Class AA State Tournament semifinals. Tech was 5-7-3 when they started the section playoffs but after 4 straight playoff wins, which includes upsets over Willmar, Apollo and last week Cloquet-Esko-Carleton the Tigers are hot.

The Cathedral boys soccer team is making their 3rd straight state tournament appearance after capturing the Section 8A championship 4-0 Tuesday night at Sauk Centre High School.

The 2nd weekend of the Class C and B State Amateur Baseball tournament starts tonight. Nine St. Cloud area teams continue to participate in the tournament. Games are being played in Dassel, Delano, Litchfield and Waconia.

The American Legion Baseball State tournament takes place Thursday - Sunday in Rochester. Both Foley and Sartell will play in the event beginning with pool play today.
