St. Patrick's Day excitement is building in St. Cloud with races, parades, and pub crawls bringing the community together for festive fun.

Every March 17 we are greeted with the traditions of wearing green, parades, corned beef and cabbage, and someone inevitably using the wrong abbreviation for St. Patrick's Day.

The Rochester Caledonian Pipe Band is a group of local pipers that play at various events in the Rochester and Southeast Minnesota area. Their annual 'Parade of Pubs' takes place each St. Patrick's Day.

Marty is holding their annual St. Patrick's Day parade at noon Saturday, March 15. It is organized by Chet and Jessica Wessling, the owners of Pearl Lake Lodge. It's "so nice they do it twice,"

Many Minnesotans have Irish heritage and even if you don't Minnesota likes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with everything green. Jake Juliot is the PR and Communications Specialist from Explore Minnesota.

St. Patrick's Day is officially on Friday, March 17th, 2023 but with it landing on a Friday it allows businesses to celebrate all weekend long.

Minnesota has many locations in the state to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. This includes a St. Patty's Day parade in Marty, Minnesota at 1pm Saturday March 12. Alyssa Hayes from Explore Minnesota joined me on WJON today.

It was a sea of green downtown on Sunday afternoon, as St. Cloud held its first St. Patrick’s Day parade in a number of years.
