Gophers take down Robert Morris to lead you Saturday sports recap

The Gopher men's hockey team defeated Notre Dame 4-2 Sunday. Minnesota scored 3 first period goals and complete the sweep of Notre Dame. The Gophers defeated the Irish 5-0 Friday night.

The St. John's hockey team defeated St. Thomas 4-2 Thursday night. Phil Johnson scored 2 goals for the Johnnies and both Wally Cossette and Nick Vatnsdal scored 1 goal apiece for the Johnnies.

The St. John's hockey team lost 3-1 Thursday night to fall to 1-4-1 overall. Justin Hochsprung scored the lone Johnnie goal in the 2nd period. Augsburg scored 2 2nd period goals and 1 3rd period goal. Saxton Soley had 26 saves for St. John's.

The St. John's hockey team is seeded 3rd in the upcoming MIAC men's hockey tournament and will play at 2nd seeded Gustavus Saturday at 7:30pm. St. John's finished the regular season with a 9-7-0 record in the MIAC and 11-12-2 overall mark.

College Wrestling: #1 St. Cloud State 31, Minnesota State-Mankato 6 (SCSU is 21-0 overall)

The St. John's hockey team defeated Concordia-Moorhead 4-1 Sunday. Joe Harren scored 2 goals for the Johnnies who complete the sweep of Concordia. St. John's is 6-9-2 overall and 4-4-0 in the MIAC.

Boys Hockey: Rochester Lourdes 4, Cathedral 1 (Michael Kerber scored the lone Cathedral goal)

Men's Hockey: Concordia-Moorhead 2, St. John's 1 (Buzz Tyggeseth scored the lone St. John's goal. The Johnnies are 0-1-1 and will play at UW-Stout at 7:30 Saturday)

Men 's College Hockey St. John's 4, St. Mary's 2 (Michael Palmiscno and Grant Ellena each scored a goal and added an assist for the Johnnies. St. John's is 5-7-2 in the WCHA and 6-15-2 overall. St. John's will play at St. Olaf Friday)
