Last month a task force recommended the St. Cloud State University campus go tobacco free. Now, the students will have a chance to give their opinion. The Student Government elections are today (Monday) through Wednesday.

St. Cloud State University could be a tobacco-free campus by August of next year. The Smoking Policy Review Task Force recommended today that the transition to a smoke-free SCSU campus begin August 1st, 2011, with a transition completed by the same date in 2012.

St. Cloud State University is taking input on the campus smoking policy. A task force was formed last fall to study the issue. The current policy bans smoking in all buildings and all University vehicles. However, smoking is allowed outside on campus grounds.
