A southern Minnesota man is charged with killing his 22-year-old girlfriend whose dismembered remains were found in a burning minivan near Sleepy Eye last week.

The state crime bureau is investigating the discovery of a body after a reported car accident and assault in south-central Minnesota.

A Minnesota man whose son once fled the state to avoid chemotherapy has died. A private funeral is set for Friday for Anthony Hauser. An obituary notice says Hauser died last Thursday at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview. He was 56.
