The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for a large portion of Central Minnesota today (Saturday). The watch is in effect until 11:00 p.m.
The National Weather Service says there's a good chance Central Minnesota will see severe weather Saturday afternoon/evening. A broken line of thunderstorms will develop over western Minnesota during the middle of the afternoon and will quickly become severe with very large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes possible.
A line of thunderstorms rolled through Central Minnesota early Friday morning. A severe thunderstorm warning was put in place in Western Wright County from 1:30 a.m. to 2:15 a.m.
A threat of severe weather made its way to the St. Cloud area but quickly dissipated. The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of southeastern Stearns County, Meeker County and Western Wright County just after 10:30 p.m.
