St. Cloud Police cited 107 people for various offenses in southside neighborhoods this year during the opening of the St. Cloud State fall semester. This is down from 137 people cited last year and 223 people cited in 2014.
Fewer tickets were issued during St. Cloud State University's move-in weekend compared to last year. St. Cloud Police say there were 310 charges last year and only 268 this year. Police say a total of 196 people committed those crimes compared to 240 in 2010.
Thousands of students at St. Cloud State University are moving back to school this weekend. Iit means extra patrols for St. Cloud Police. Police Chief Dennis Ballantine says a bad reputation has developed over the years where students are known to party hard prompting noise complaints, fights and indecent exposure incidents.
