Sauk Rapids could be the next local police department to start using body cameras. Police Chief Perry Beise says they are starting the process now and he's hoping to have them fully implemented by late spring.
The Sauk Rapids police department is joining a program that they believe will help them catch criminals faster. Chief Perry Beise says they are partnering with the Mille Lacs County Sheriff's Office to install an Automated License Plate Reader in one of the city's squad cars.
Benton County man has died in a motorcycle crash. Sauk Rapids Police Chief Perry Beise says it happened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Benton Drive South, north of the Highway 10 overpass.
Another gas station robbery in Sauk Rapids. Police Chief Perry Beise says a man walked into the Shell Gas Station/Convenience store at 400 South Benton Drive on Sunday night at about 6:50 p.m and demanded money.
