The City of Sartell is combining their Park and Rec offerings with the Sartell-St. Stephen School District. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the city and school district have worked together on offerings before but this merging of Park & Rec offerings will be more efficient both both parties.

He says the city of Sartell's east side of the Mississippi River where the old paper mill used to be is a blank canvas that could be developed into something similar to how Stillwater uses the St. Croix river. Fitzthum says they are a bit limited due to residential and County Road 1 on the west side of the river.

The old Sartell bridge crossing the Mississippi River near the old Paper Mill site is expected to re-open to pedestrians in 2022. Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the City of Sartell plans construction on a walking and bike path on the east side of the river in the spring of 2022 with the opening of the old Sartell bridge to pedestrians in late 2022 or 2023.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fizthum joined me on WJON today. He says Sartell Summerfest will happen in 2021. He says they will follow guidance from the state and expect to have the parade and Libertyville amongst other activities and events. He says it's tough to do a parade without marching bands but he's optimistic that marching bands will be allowed to perform in parades this summer.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He says the city council approved the refund of the 2020 liquor license for Sartell bars and restaurants. He says the savings for these businesses is approximately $3,000 per. He says the city is also looking to hire their first full-time fire chief and Sartell is offering a virtual tour of their new public safety facility which houses their police and fire departments.

Sartell Mayor Ryan Fitzthum joined me on WJON today. He indicated that Sartell is updating their City Council Chambers with CARES Act money. They will be doing a remodel of the chambers and will update technology and services to aid the public.
