Voters in the Sauk Rapids-Rice school district have defeated two ballot questions. Question number one failed by 332 votes and the second question failed by 347 votes.
A judge at a St. Cloud school district polling place was incorrectly asking for ID's this morning (Tuesday). District 742 spokesperson Tami Deland says the error happened right when polls opened at the Clearview polling location.
Community members voiced their opinions and ask questions this (Monday) evening on the upcoming District 724 bond referendum. A classroom was filled with people either for or against a $167-million-dollar referendum that will be brought for a vote with plans to build a new Tech High School and update Apollo High School.
Instead of the typical 65 precincts, there will be 13 for the upcoming November 3rd $167 million referendum for the St. Cloud area school district. The change is due to the school district deciding to use larger precincts for the referendum vote, resulting in fewer polling places.
Governor Mark Dayton and legislative leaders say the Minnesota Vikings and their supporters should find a way to pay for a new stadium that doesn't include local or state tax increases. That leaves a large hole in the current proposal for a $1.1 billion stadium in suburban Ramsey County.
