After 45 years in business, the Sauk Rapids "Perkins in the Pines" has closed its doors. A note posted on the door says ownership made the tough decision to close due to an expiring lease and a third straight year of road construction impacts.

You can go to a local Perkins restaurant today (September 24th) and get a free short stack of pancakes. In exchange, the restaurant hopes you'll consider making a donation to charity as part of Give Kids The World Pancake Day.

The Perkins restaurant on Park Avenue near Crossroads Shopping Center in St. Cloud will reopen on Friday morning with a shiny new look.

The owner of the four Perkin's Restaurants in the St. Cloud Metro area says his restaurants are all staying open, and are not affected by an announcement made today (Monday) by the corporate office. The corporate office is seeking chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
