A St. Cloud man has again been ruled incompetent to stand trial in the murder of his mother. A fourth mental competency exam on Dean Friese has determined the 54-year-old is not well enough to stand trial in the slaying of Lois Omeara.

A St. Cloud man has been found competent to stand trial in the murder of his mother, just months after he was found incompetent. Fifty-three-year-old Dean Friese has undergone a handful mental competency examinations with mixed results. In his latest ruling, Stearns County Judge Frank Kundrat accepted a psychologist's findings that Friese can understand the trial process and work with his lawyers.

Stearns County prosecutors are looking to file a first degree murder charge against a St. Cloud man accused of stabbing his mother to death two weeks ago.

A St. Cloud man is being held on $3-million bail after he allegedly killed his mother early Saturday morning.
