The drawdown on Little Rock Lake and part of the Mississippi River is coming to an end this weekend. DNR Fisheries Manager Eric Altena says Eagle Creek will start closing the dam slowly starting Saturday.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a rash of gas thefts which left vehicles with damaged gas tanks. Multiple incidents were reported to authorities where someone drilled holes in vehicle gas tanks and took the gas.
A Benton County lake has long been known for its green colored water. However, the Little Rock Lake Association has been working to cleanup its image for several years, reducing the phosphorus, nitrogen, and soil erosion levels. Their biggest effort yet could be coming next summer.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Little Rock Lake Association Board will be holding several information sessions regarding a proposed drawdown to help restore water quality to the lake.
