About 1,800 acres of St. Joseph Township land could soon be called Waite Park territory. During a work study session last (Monday) night city officials started planning the completion of a planned orderly annexation of remaining to section of St. Joseph Township.
Sartell officials have agreed to acquire one piece of land and sell another. During tonight's (Monday) special meeting the city council discussed in a closed session whether or not to sell about .75 acres of land at 632 Riverside Avenue South and purchase two other properties near Val Smith Park and Sauk River Regional Park.
Sartell officials are considering to acquire some land near the Sauk River Regional Park. The city is looking at purchasing roughly 5 acres adjacent to the current park boundary at County Road 136 and County Road 120.
A better understanding on the plans for a two-hotel and conference center came together after tonight's (Monday) public hearing. Waite Park officials continued their public hearing from last month, after needing more time to collect more info on final TIF numbers.
The city of Waite Park is looking at taking a big step in growing the community. The Silver Leaf Group is proposing to build two premium hotels and a conference center in Waite Park.
