DB Searles in downtown St. Cloud is changing ownership. Owner Andy Barth says the three-story bar and restaurant on 5th Avenue ceased operations Thursday.

Brothers Bar and Grill in downtown St. Cloud is closed. One of the co-owners of the building Doug Boser of Inventure Properties says they decided to end the lease with the Brothers franchise to make way for a new restaurant.

A plan to bring a new coffee shop to downtown St. Cloud appears to be brewing once again. Tuesday night the St. Cloud Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider a request to rezone part of the 200 block of 5th Avenue.

What was once the heart of the city, the First National Bank of St. Cloud building is well on its way to becoming a town staple once again. Renovations to the building wrapped up last summer and now the old bank is turning some heads.

A development company is putting down roots in downtown St. Cloud. Inventure Properties has announced that they'll be headquartered at 117 1/2 5th Avenue South, above the Endurunce Shop.

Boser Construction and Inventure Properties recently held a grand re-opening at the Franklin Office Building in Sauk Rapids. The 1200 series building, at 1209 and 1201 Franklin Avenue Northeast, holds Absolute Outdoor sporting goods and Wilcox Family Dentistry.

The plan for a new $19 million downtown St. Cloud office building is moving forward, despite a lot of opposition from neighborhood residents, and from some city council members. During their meeting this (Monday) evening, the council approved a request to rezone the property along 5th Avenue. However, the council declined to take a vote on the PUD for a General Development Plan, or whether to vacate 3rd Street South.
