A St. Cloud man has been sentenced to more than 22 years in prison after firing gunshots at police in August 2010.

A Stearns County jury has found the man accused of firing gunshots at police during a 2010 standoff guilty of all charges.

The jury trial for a man who fired gunshots at police is underway in Stearns County Court this week. Frank Bammert faces two counts of assault and another charge of possessing a gun.

A judge has ordered a mental competency exam for a 25-year-old man shot by police during a standoff in St. Cloud last August. Bammert is charged with two counts of first-degree assault for an incident Aug. 14 at his St. Cloud apartment.
