A judge has overturned a jury's decision to award nearly $77,000 to a candidate who was offered the job as police chief of Cold Spring-Richmond and quit his previous job before the offer was rescinded.

A jury in Stearns County has ruled in favor of a police chief candidate who sued after the job was awarded to someone else. A verdict delivered late Wednesday still has to be approved by a judge. The jury awarded Eric Johnson nearly $77,000.
