The Republican candidate has prevailed in a St. Cloud-area Senate seat recount, sealing Republicans' control of the Senate next year.

Gerard Bettendorf will take over as Foley's new mayor next year. Bettendorf finished with 44 percent of the vote, beating Leslie LeCuyer and incumbent Mayor Dave Mosford, who came in last.

The race for St. Augusta City Council has five people vying for two seats in Tuesday's election.

Hillary Clinton is the favored presidential candidate in Minnesota according to St. Cloud State University.

Five people are running for the three at-large seats on the St. Cloud City Council. The three incumbents: Carol Lewis, Jeff Goerger, and George Hontos. And, two newcomers: Abdi Daisaine and Ken Grinsell.

There's a four-way race for two open spots on the Sauk Rapids City Council. Both incumbents, Steve Heinen and Nick Sauer, are seeking re-election. And, two people running for public office for the first time, Merle Gales and Layne Schmitz, are hoping to get voted onto the council.

Three candidates are vying for the two open seats. Incumbent Chuck Schneider, Incumbent Mike Linquist and Shawn Blackburn are all hoping to represent Waite Park.

One of three county commissioner races in Benton County is being challenged this year. Anthony Nies is running against incumbent Warren Peschl in District 1.

Five candidates have filed for the four open positions on the Sauk Rapids-Rice School Board. Incumbents Mark Hauck, Tracey Fiereck, Tracy Morse and Jan Solarz are all seeking re-election, with newcomer Ryan Butkowski rounding out the group.
