The St. Cloud Police Department Community Engagement-Community Response Team is collecting donations for an upcoming annual religious holiday celebration.

St. Cloud will soon have its first outdoor lighted basketball courts.

The annual winter clothing drive is underway at the St. Cloud Community Outpost.

Congressman Tom Emmer was in St. Cloud this week meeting with St. Cloud Police Chief Blair Anderson, St. Cloud Mayor Dave Kleis, and representative Tama Theis to get an update on the COP House in St. Cloud. Emmer says the COP House continues to be a success offering community engagement with police and community members.

I was joined today on WJON by 6th District Congressman Tom Emmer. He authored the bill helping create the COP House in St. Cloud. COP stands for Community Outpost and is a home in a neighborhood that has had issues with crime activity. The home is meant for police to increase visibility and community involvement in trouble neighborhoods with the expectation to reduce crime.

A police program in south St. Cloud could become a national model.

Due to the cold weather last week, the St. Cloud State University men’s hockey outdoor practice has been rescheduled for Monday.

A St. Cloud man has been charged with attempted arson in connection to a fire at the Community Outpost last month.

The incident happened Tuesday just after 3:00 a.m. at 600 13th Street South.

The first school bell will be ringing before we know it, and the St. Cloud Police Department wants to make sure students in need are ready to go.
