This week in our "Behind the Scenes" series on WJON, we put on our aprons and fire up the ovens with the cooking staff at North Junior High School. Ask any student and they will tell you lunch is one of their favorite subjects in school. However, ask the cooking staff and they will tell you it's one of the hardest subjects.
WJON's All-Star Student of the Week once again comes from the ProStart Culinary Program at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Madelaine Virchow has decided to pursue a career in culinary and hospitality. She was a member of the second place state culinary team last year. As a senior she hopes to make it to nationals.
WJON's All-Star Student is kick starting her career of owning her own restaurant by participating in the culinary program at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. Madison Waseca is the captain of the management team, and was a member of last years' second place state culinary team. She says her experience here is helping set her up for the future.
