As Minnesota lawmakers break from the Capitol for the campaign, they leave behind a tale of two sessions.

Minnesota Senate Republicans are meeting to choose a new majority leader to replace Amy Koch, who resigned amid revelations she had an inappropriate relationship with a Senate staffer.

A proposal for a bill to use state tax dollars in building a new Minnesota Vikings stadium will be introduced at the Capitol today. It asks that $300 million in state funds be raised through a variety of revenue streams, including a sales tax on memorabilia and luxury seats.

Opponents of a bill that would criminalize human cloning say it would halt potentially life-saving research on a wide range of illnesses. More than 50 people gathered in a conference room at the State Office Building in St. Paul to say why they oppose the bill.

Mayors from around Minnesota are telling Gov. Mark Dayton that cuts to local government aid would hurt the ability of their communities to provide public safety, perform needed maintenance and deliver services like libraries and community centers.
