A representative for Allegiant Airlines was at the St. Cloud Regional Airport this (Thursday) afternoon. Eric Fletcher is the Manager of Airport Planning. He says the company is excited about the soon-to-launch regular service between the St. Cloud Regional Airport at the Phoenix/Mesa Gateway Airport.
Another step this week in St. Cloud's efforts to attract an airline. A delegation of airport officials and the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation are in Sacramento, California to meet with a number of airlines.

Efforts to attract an airline to St. Cloud Regional Airport just got a big shot in the arm. The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded St. Cloud Airport a $750,000 Small Community Air Service Development Grant.
Airport Director Bill Towle says they will match that with $250,000 locally to create a contingency fund for any airline willing to commit to regularly scheduled flights.
