The St. Cloud Apollo Boys Basketball team defeated Detroit Lakes 68-41 in the section 83A finals at St. Cloud State Halenbeck Hall Thursday night to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament. The Eagles closed the first half with a 17-2 run and led 36-18 at halftime. Detroit Lakes got as close as 15 points back in the 2nd half and Apollo holds on. The Eagles were led by Blake Maslonkowski with 18 points and 7 rebounds and Ibrahim Abukar added 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Apollo 68, Tech 49 (Ibrahim Abukar led Apollo with 26 points. Kevin Heysse led Tech with 16 points. Apollo finishes the regular season 18-0 in the CLC and 22-4 overall. Tech closes the regular season 12-6 in the CLC and 13-13 overall. Apollo will be the #1 seed in the upcoming section 83A playoffs)
