It will likely be at least another year before we see any development on the former Sartell paper mill site. The Sartell city council has unanimously approved a one-year moratorium of any new development on three general areas near the river: the paper mill site, parts of DeZurik and the hydro facility.

Nearly three years since demolition work on the former Verso Paper mill site began, questions loom as to what the future holds. The 70-acre site was bought by AIM Development back in 2013.

Very quietly, and with very little fanfare, a historic part of Sartell's skyline came tumbling down last (Wednesday). The old smoke stack at the former paper mill is now just a pile of rubble.

Coming in at #4 in our Top 10 Countdown of 2013, the Verso Paper Mill is sold to AIM Development and demolition underway.

The Sartell City Council approved the splitting of the hydroelectric facilities from the former Verso Paper Mill property this evening (Wednesday).

Sartell Mayor Joe Perske, and the rest of the city council, approved the plans this (Thursday) evening to begin the demolition of the former Verso Paper Mill. Perske says the structure that has stood longer than the town itself will be missed.

The head of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation says he's looking forward to learning more about the company buying the Verso Paper Mill. C-E-O John Kramer says the Verso Corporation sent out a Request for Proposals last November.
