Minnesota plans to make it easier for people researching their family histories to access old adoption records. The Department of Human Services plans to digitize roughly 5 million pages worth of old adoption records, including some that date to the late 19th century.
Two adoption agencies with deep roots in Minnesota are planning to merge. Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota, which has been operating in the state for 147 years, will merge with Children's Home Society and Family Services, which has been around for 123 years.
