A downtown St. Cloud street will be closed for two days to allow for an additional investigation into the Press Bar fire.

Construction work in the area near the new Chipotle Restaurant will close a portion of 5th Avenue next week.

The University Drive Roundabout at 5th Avenue South opens today, about a week ahead of schedule. Crews are putting down the final lift of pavement today.

Work on the University Drive and 5th Avenue South roundabout near St. Cloud State University begins Monday. The project will allow traffic to continue along University Drive in both directions, but traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. 5th Avenue South will be closed in both directions at the intersection of University Drive.

You probably have noticed workers taking down houses along University Drive and 5th Avenue South. The work is in preparation for the roundabout construction at that intersection.

The city of St. Cloud has three major construction projects slated for this summer. The three projects combined will total about $5-million. Major projects will take place on University Drive, 25th Avenue North and 41st Avenue.

A new roundabout intersection will be built at University Drive and 5th Avenue South after the St. Cloud City Council approved plans last night. The $2.5-million project will be paid for with a combination of federal dollars and half-cent sales tax money.
