ST. CLOUD - Most fees for Stearns County services will stay the same -- at lease for now.

The Board of Commissioners voted today (Tuesday) not to raise the fees on some 20 pages worth of services, including: construction site permits, food and beverage licenses, pool and spa inspections, and immunizations.  However, the head of the Health and Human Services Department, Mark Sizer, urged the board to reconsider fee increases in his department before the end of the year.

The fees for most county services don't cover the actual cost to perform the service, which means the county has to subsidize the difference to the tune of about $14 million a year.
