ST. CLOUD - The YMCA and the city of St. Cloud are exploring a very exciting partnership.

They're looking into building a city-funded community center with an aquatics facility. From now until the end of the year, the YMCA will be talking with the public and conducting studies to gauge local needs and interests.

Greg Gack is the Executive Director of the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA. He says the people in the St. Cloud area will be the main factor in the planning of the facility.

Gack says they'll be conducting focus groups and have also hired a private consultancy with experience in helping YMCAs expand their services.

They'll also be conducting about 800 phone interviews on random numbers. If you get one of these calls, keep in mind it's NOT a solicitor - just the YMCA asking for your honest opinion.

The facility cost is estimated at $26.5 million.
