AVON TOWNSHIP - A 42-year-old St. Cloud man has been charged in a shooting incident Sunday which left him hurt.

Raymond Hanson has been charged with second degree assault with a dangerous weapon and illegally possessing a gun.

Records show Hanson entered a home in Avon Township and pointed the gun at his brother. A struggle ensued and the brother was able to force the gun back on Hanson while pulling the trigger. Hanson was shot in the abdomen and in the leg. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

The charging complaint says multiple witnesses told authorities Hanson had made threats to his brother earlier in the day. Hanson told investigators he walked into the home and his brother started firing at him from the kitchen. However, shell casings weren't found in the kitchen, but rather close to the front door where the struggle was said to have taken place.

Hanson has a prior conviction of second degree assault from Stearns County back in 2013.
