ST. CLOUD -- Police shootings across the country have fanned the flames of distrust between police and community members. Now, a pair of St. Cloud State University professors of social work are trying to develop a plan to improve those relationships.

Police officers and social service professionals gathered in St. Cloud today (Thursday) for the first-ever Police and Social Services Conference.

Co-organizer Consolor Teboh says the idea is to create partnerships between law enforcement and social workers to help officers with difficult social situations such as domestic violence, race relations, and mental health interventions.
