St. Cloud City Council Approves Resolution Against Charter Communications

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud city council has voted to approve a resolution, alleging that Charter Communications has committed a violation of their franchise agreement. Charter has a deadline of October 10th to resolve the issue with the city.

City Attorney Matt Staehling says the resolution shouldn't impact the cable company's customers at all.

At issue is that Charter moved several public access - or PEG - channels without the city's approval.

Charter officials asked the city to not approve the resolution, and in exchange offered to pay their delinquent fees with interest in the amount of $44,000, as a stand alone issue. The fees owed date back to 2010 and 2011.

Staehling and Charter officials are scheduled to meet tomorrow (Tuesday) to work out the differences between the two sides.
