The Lars Larson National Show covers the latest news across this great land of ours. Lars believes the only way to improve our community, state, and union is through honest discussion. Sometimes that means people (including Lars) will be made uncomfortable as ideas are challenged. But it’s worth it! In fact, when compared to what our forefathers endured, it’s a very small price to pay for a better tomorrow.
About Lars Larson
Lars got his start in radio at age 16 spinning records and reading news, sports and weather on “the Voice of Tillamook County” 1590 KTIL from a little cinderblock building on the edge of a cow pasture on the Oregon coast. 33 years later he’s only moved 75 miles to the East (Portland) . . . and light years to the “Right.”
Along the way, Lars has worked for radio stations in Eugene, Spokane and currently NewsRadio 750 KXL in Portland, where he double dares station management to pry him loose. Despite friends who tell him he “has a face made for radio” Lars spent 20 years working in television as an Anchor, reporter and producer of a weekly news magazine.
Much to his wife Tina’s delight, Lars has picked up more than 75 journalism awards, including a couple of television Emmy’s and a Peabody.
Today, the Pacific Northwest “Lars Larson” show runs on 18 radio stations in Oregon and Washington from 12pm to 3pm (pacific time)
Lars takes on national topics on his Compass Media Networks show carried by 200 radio stations around the country from 3pm-6pm (pacific time), Mon-Fri. . . as Lars puts it, “Even Tina can’t take seven hours of me in a row.”
