Sauk Rapids Man Arrested for Alleged Armed Robbery

ST. CLOUD - A Sauk Rapids man has been arrested for allegedly robbing a store at gunpoint.

At about 6:00 p.m. last (Wednesday) night officers were called to the GW Coffee and Tobacco at 21 Wilson Avenue Northeast.

The suspect fled on foot, and with the help of a police dog, officers tracked him to a nearby apartment on 3rd Avenue Northeast.  Residents in the apartment say they gave 19-year-old Joseph McDermott a ride to 944 1st Street South in Sauk Rapids.  He was found and arrested.
