COLD SPRING -- An alleged gun threat in the Rocori school district this (Wednesday) morning had school officials acting quickly.

Rocori Superintendent Scott Staska says they received a call from a parent at about 7:30 a.m. saying their child overheard that another student was planning to bring a weapon to school.

Staska says they were able to divert the school bus the alleged weapon was on before it arrived on school grounds.

A school resource officer and school officials were able to talk to the students on board and check several backpacks but found no indication there was any threat.

Classes were able to resume as normal. Staska says they are appreciative of the parents information which allowed them to take precautionary measures.

Rocori High School was the scene of a school shooting, which killed two students, on September 24th 2003.
