Passenger Killed in Broadside Collision in Wright County

Maple Lake - The Minnesota State Patrol were on the scene of a broadside collision in Maple Lake Saturday morning.

77 year-old Lila Spike, of Maple Lake, was killed in the crash when another vehicle struck the passenger door.

The crash happened at about 9:00 a. m. off of Highway 55 and ELM Avenue North in Maple Lake.

Arnold Spike, the driver of the vehicle, and Lila were heading South bound on ELM Avenue, when they pulled out in front of a vehicle heading East bound on Highway 55.

Arnold Spike received non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, 55 year-old Jeffrey Jude, had no apparent injuries.
