ST. CLOUD - St. Cloud's "Holly Ball" is turning 40 years old this year. The ruby celebration is this Saturday at the River's Edge Convention Center.

Co-Chair Amy Stolt says preparations for the big event are a year-round process.

Stolt says over 2,000 people are expected to attend the event on Saturday. It includes a dinner at 5:30 p.m., holiday entertainment, a silent auction from 6:30 until 10:00 p.m., and dancing to the Fabulous Armadillos from 7:30 p.m. until midnight. And, new this year, is the Holly Ball After party featuring Hairball from Midnight until 2:00 a.m.

They have a goal of raising over $750,000 this year, and have collected more than $5 million since Holly Ball began 39 years ago. Money raised will go to St. Cloud Hospital Hospice and Coborn Cancer Center.

The dinner is sold out, but tickets to the main event are still available.
